Row 1 purl
Row 2 K1, M1L, K1, M1L, K to the last 2 stitches, M1R, K1, M1R, K1
Repeat these two rows (making four increases every right side row) until there are 52 stitches
Row 1 purl
Row 2 K1, M1L, K1, M1L, K1, M1L, K to last 3 st, M1R, K1, M1R, K1, M1R, K1
Repeat these two rows (making six increases every right side row) until there are 74 stitches.
Girl dog: join stitches and continue
Boy dog: knit 3 rows stockinette stitch then join stitches
Switch to size 10 needles toknit in the round since guage usually gets tighter in the round.
Mark join with marker and knit in the round until body length measures 7″ from the CO edge
(Harness Hole)
k37, YO, K2Tog, K to end
k2 complete rounds
Note: For all bind offs use stretchy bind off where you knit two stitches together, loosen the k2tog stitch on the right needle and move it back onto the left needle, knit that stitch together with the next stitch on the left, repeat. Do this loosely and you’ll have a nice stretchy bind off.

Row 2 K7, Cable CO 11 stitches, K 38, Cable CO 11 stitches, K7
Row 3 K one complete row
(Chest Decreases to Neck)
Row 1 K1, K2Tog, K to 3 stitches before the marker SSK, K1
Row 2 Knit complete row
Repeat these two rows (decreasing two stitches every other row) until there are 60 stitches remaining
When 60 stitches remain, repeat decrease row every row until there are 54 stitches remaining
(Neck)
Join SC and knit one complete round
Switch to US 8s and start k2 P1 Ribbing and repeat until desired length. 2 inches makes a mock turtleneck but you can double that to make a cute foldover turtleneck
BO using the stretchy bind off
(Edging)
Using US 8s and MC pick up 75 stitches around entire rump/underside. Join SC, knit one complete round then begin K2P1 ribbing. Repeat ribbing for about four rounds. BO using stretchy bind off.
Using US 8s and MC pick up 21 stitches around each leg. Join SC, knit one complete round then begin K2P1 ribbing. Repeat until legs are as long as you like.
To make the harness hole a little prettier, use a simple blanket stitch edging using the SC around the inside of the hole
